Precision Rifle 1 is the first course in our highly regarded civilian training series broken into a 3 day format designed to enhance new and experienced shooters preparing them for a sound foundation to continue their marksmanship goals. Students may take all three at once or individually.

About The Event
Precision Rifle 1 is the first course in our highly regarded civilian training series. Students with all experience levels of precision rifles are welcome to attend this class to build a solid foundation for precision rifle shooting. This is up to a three (3) day training evolution. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of precision rifle fundamental concepts including basic range safety, introduction to rifle scope systems, prone shooting essentials, Milradian / Minute-of-Angle units of measurement, introduction to wind calls / reading, and more. In addition, actual on-the-firing-line time will consist of fundamental drills and shooting which support classroom concepts. Target engagement will be from 100 yards to 1,200+ yards, depending on the student’s specific weapon system. This course is medium paced, designed to present the appropriate amount of information with a quick transition to range time.

This is “THE BEGINNING” where every aspiring precision rifleman should begin their journey. This training evolution is split 60/40 between live fire on the range and knowledge development in the classroom. The day will begin inside the classroom where students will learn the basics of Rifle safety & Operation followed by lessons on The Fundamentals of Marksmanship, Pre-Fire Checklist, Individual Rifle Fitment, Scope Operation & Usage, and the Optic Mounting Process.

Picking up where day 1 ended, evolution 1.2 begins in the classroom with a short review of information previously covered before diving into External Ballistics: Effects on the Projectile in Flight. This portion of the class is also paired with using all features of the Ballistic Arc ballistic calculator. The class will conduct multiple drills ranging from dialing your optic for each distance out to 1200 yards, using the reticle for target holdovers out to 800 yards.

The final day of the PR1 series stands to accomplish two major goals; Reinforce all of the knowledge and habits gained from evolutions 1 & 2, and introduce moving target engagement, calculations, and methodology. Unlike the previous training days, evolution 3 begins on the Zero Range. Students will confirm zero, conduct marksmanship fundamental drills, and analyze targets.
