About The Event
The Operational Readiness Training Day (ORTD) series was developed by Tyler Hughes and refined through continuous law enforcement and military application since 2013. The training model prioritizes execution over theory and addresses modern sniper challenges including positional limitations, urban complexity, elevated engagements, and dynamic targets. Each training day is intentionally structured to deliver measurable performance gains within a single training cycle, minimizing time away from duty while maximizing operational return. Agencies consistently report improved shooter confidence, faster engagement solutions, and greater independent problem-solving capability in snipers who complete OR events.
Training Day Options
Day 1 – Tripod Employment & MasteryFocuses on the tripod as a primary fighting platform, developing stability, recoil control, and efficiency for engagements out to 600 yards. Heavy emphasis on moving target engagements.
Day 2 – Alternate Positions MasteryAddresses urban and rural firing problems using barricades, vehicles, rooftops, terrain, and improvised supports. Prone is restricted to zeroing only.…

Day 1: Tripod Mastery
This training day is dedicated to tripod employment as a primary fighting platform, not an accessory. Students will learn to exploit the tripod as a stable, adaptable, and repeatable solution for precision rifle engagements in modern operational environments. Both bolt-action and gas-gun platforms are supported, with instruction focused on efficiency, recoil management, and rapid precise engagement capability.
$300.00
Day 2: Alternate Positions
This training day focuses on non-standard and improvised firing positions commonly encountered in urban and rural operational environments. The emphasis is on solving positional problems quickly while maintaining accuracy and accountability. Prone is restricted to zeroing only—forcing students to adapt, build positions, and perform under realistic constraints.
$300.00
Day 3: High Angle Sniper
This training day addresses elevated and depressed angle engagements in both urban and natural terrain environments. Instruction focuses on positional construction, ballistic considerations, and shooter management at extreme angles. Angles approach near-vertical (up to 50 degrees), creating a demanding but controlled training environment.
